And most of emanates from people with underlying attitudes, with an urge to steer the general population in a particular direction (veganism).<\/p>\n<p>Commonsense suggests the most intelligent course is to eat moderate amounts of good quality, sustainably produced food from as wide a variety of sources as possible, and as unprocessed as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s paper reported on findings of the <a title=\"Global Burden of Disease study\" href=\"http:\/\/www.news.com.au\/lifestyle\/fitness\/global-burden-of-disease-study-rates-australia-highly\/story-fneuzle5-1226591107463\" target=\"_blank\">Global Burden of Disease Study<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In summary:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Australians have the 3rd highest life expectancy in the world<\/li>\n<li>Australians rank 2nd in regard to living the fewest years in a very sick state before death<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And according to many other sources, such as\u00a0 The Economist, <a title=\"List of meat consumption per head per country\" href=\"http:\/\/www.scribd.com\/doc\/91840616\/Meat-Consumption-Per-Person\" target=\"_blank\">Australia ranks 3rd for meat consumption<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Yet we&#8217;re bombarded daily with media releases insisting meat consumption is deadly.\u00a0 Hmmm, doesn&#8217;t really add up, does it?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So much hot air is spoken about what a healthy diet consists of these days.
