{"id":4710,"date":"2015-04-16T12:31:29","date_gmt":"2015-04-16T02:31:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fionalake.com.au\/blog\/?p=4710"},"modified":"2015-04-16T12:31:29","modified_gmt":"2015-04-16T02:31:29","slug":"meat-free-monday-supported-by-the-south-australian-government","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fionalake.com.au\/blog\/meat-free-monday-supported-by-the-south-australian-government\/","title":{"rendered":"Meat Free Monday supported by the South Australian Government"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today I discovered the <strong>South Australian Governmen<\/strong>t is now listed as a &#8216;partner&#8217; on the &#8220;Do Something&#8221; <a title=\"Meat Free Monday website listing SA Govt as a supporter\" href=\"http:\/\/www.foodwise.com.au\/supporters\/\" target=\"_blank\">Meat Free Monday &#8220;Foodwise&#8221;<\/a> website.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve previously written about the <strong>Meat Free Monday<\/strong> campaign.\u00a0 It purports to help the health of the planet and relies on the endorsement of celebrities who are too distracted or too busy to do their homework.\u00a0 What few if any of these famous actors, musicians, sportspeople and cooks appear to realise is that the underlying intention is to eliminate livestock industries completely.\u00a0 And that doing this would actually harm the planet not help it, by shifting more pressure to other food production systems, many of which are far more detrimental to native flora and fauna, and far less sustainable long-term.\u00a0 Australia has a world-renowned sustainable grazing industry; efficiently producing a large quantity of good quality food, in harmony with the natural environment.\u00a0 This message needs to be better explained to those who believe the misinformation put out by agenda-driven organisers behind &#8216;eat less meat&#8217; campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>Previous blog posts detailing &#8216;eat less meat&#8217; campaigns include: <a title=\"Previous blog post; Meat Free Monday Propaganda\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fionalake.com.au\/blog\/news\/meat-free-monday-propaganda\/\" target=\"_blank\">Meat Free Monday propaganda<\/a> and <a title=\"Previous blog post; Meat that isn't real\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fionalake.com.au\/blog\/news\/meat-that-isnt-real-artificial-fake-faux-pretend\/\" target=\"_blank\">Meat that isn&#8217;t real<\/a> (pointing out that Meat Free Monday has been driven by the Fry Family, an African family who make a living manufacturing fake meat, for the vegan market.)<\/p>\n<p>South Australia, of all states, supporting &#8216;Meat Free Mondays&#8217;! The <strong>largest cattle station in the world<\/strong>, <strong>S. Kidman &amp; Co&#8217;s Anna Creek<\/strong>,\u00a0 is located in South Australia.\u00a0 The<strong> second largest sheep station<\/strong> in the world, <strong>Jumbuck Pastoral&#8217;s Commonwealth Hill<\/strong>, is located in South Australia.\u00a0 One of the most iconic brands in the country, leather boot making icon <strong>R.M.
