Looking for top quality farming images to ensure you maximise the return on your marketing efforts?
I shifted to digital photography in 2013 and have a growing stock image library of good quality farming photos. (High-quality digital scans are also available for many of the film images taken prior to 2013.) These are all rural images with integrity. Good agricultural land and livestock management practices feature, and all these photos are geographically identifiable. Factual, interesting captions can also be written specifically for you – usually at no extra cost.

WHAT MAKES MY FARMING IMAGES DIFFERENT?
- These photos are all reliably, geographically identified. (Whereas most stock library images only have a vague location listed, if any at all.)
- Taken on top-drawer professional-quality photographic equipment. Most images are suitable for enlarging up to billboard size.
- Short of time, like the rest of us? You don’t have to wade through acres of online dross to find what you’ve got in mind. Describe what your requirements are & I can point you in the right direction straight away.
- You can have complete confidence that any images purchased from me will not just put your business (or your customer’s business), in a positive light, these images will get the very best result possible. Because I have decades of experience in agriculture – covering 3,000+km from Southern to Northern Australia, and 3,000+km East-West across the top of Australia. Which has given me a sound understanding of rural consumers across Australia and knowledge of what are good agricultural practices and what is typical of a region, and what is not. And I know what must be double-checked. Graphic design, marketing and advertising agency staff who have no understanding of the huge regional differences across rural Australia, have made some businesses a laughing stock amongst their rural customers. Don’t join them! The pitfalls awaiting those unfamiliar with agriculture are many – from weed species in particular areas, to typical livestock breeds, good/bad stock and land condition, etc. Reliable advice from a trustworthy source is vital.
- I’m happy to write well-worded captions for you. This service is usually available at no extra charge. A good image plus a good caption = a brilliant result. This is the biggest single mistake made over and over again by a vast number of businesses. No captions at all on their images, or poorly written or researched captions that don’t answer viewer questions or maximise the opportunity. Or worse still, image captions containing errors. Make the most of your investment in time and money!
Fiona Lake’s images used commercially, to date:
- Used by a vast range of companies over many years. Small businesses up to many of Australia’s largest; including the biggest banks, vehicle manufacturers/sellers and clothing manufacturers/retailers, to specialised agribusinesses and film production companies (Australian and overseas based).
- Huge variety of uses – just about everything you could think of. From business cards to billboards. Calendars, product labelling, magazine, newspaper and television advertisements. Film prospectuses, trade display banners, presentation powerpoints, etc.
Farming images for editorial use:
My images have been published in capital city newspapers and national magazines as well as specialised rural publications. I have written and photographed many features, for example numerous ‘station stories’ featuring many of Australia’s largest cattle stations, for RM William’s Outback Magazine.
Agriculture in other countries:
A selection of farming images from Ireland (Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland), Scotland and England are also available. This selection will increase, as I get to roam further afield.
VIEWING THE FARM STOCK IMAGE LIBRARY:
Don’t hesitate to contact me by phone (phone number & business hours below) or via Email if you’d like to link to view the farming images available for use. Few images are included on the publicly viewable website for two reasons: 1) online image theft is rampant & 2) Most businesses seeking commercial images don’t want something that’s already a half-eaten dinner [something many have already seen]. And editorial users rarely have any interest in already-publicised images. So the commercial image library is only viewable by genuine business enquirers, on request. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Being situated between the fertile Burdekin irrigation farming area, the wet tropics and extensive cattle station country, I may be able to get specific images for you at relatively short notice. Including aerial images. Don’t hesitate to ask!
The bottom line:
Nobody would put retreads or discount tyres on a Formula 1 car, and expect it to win a race. Ensure your marketing material 1st: succeeds in getting the attention of your prospective customers (in what is an increasingly competitive marketplace), then 2nd: makes a lasting good impression (resulting in more cash in your bank).
Quality images are the best starting point.
