Equitana Melbourne 2010

I will have a stand at Equitana Melbourne 2010 which is on at the Melbourne Show Grounds from 18th to 21st November. More than 50,000 people are expected to visit what is described as ‘the largest equine shopping spree in the Southern Hemisphere’; with more than 300 horse-related trade fair exhibitors, equine masterclasses and education sessions, horse health clinics and live demonstrations, a big range of horse entertainment during the day and on 3 nights as well; plus world cup competition dressage and jumping competitions as well as a horse trainer competition (more than 500+ competitors & 1,000+ horses). Everything from horsefloats to different horse breeds, handling and care information, saddlery and horse-related equipment, etc. In short, nearly everything that opens and shuts, to do with horses. Heaven for anyone interested in horses – read a summary of Equitana 2008 for an idea of what is in store for 2010.

Equitana Melbourne is held every second year. Apparently about 50% of visitors come from Victoria but the other half travel from other states and overseas. I have never been to Equitana before and am really looking forward to it – just hope I also can squeeze in time to visit the other exhibitors and see some of the horse demonstrations, as well as meeting people at my stand. Hope they have the horse-swapping event that was held at Equitana 2008, because it sounded hilarious – and a great example of the ability of real horsemen/women to be good with any kind of horse and those they are unfamiliar with.

If you are interested in horses, stick Equitana in your diary, and call in to say hello. Closer to the date details of my Equitana site number & exact location will be posted on the website.
